Manager Laboratory Services
Inova Health Center is looking for a dedicated Manager Laboratory Services to join the Stem Cell Transplant Processing team. This is a full-time Day Shift, Monday to Friday 4:00am-8:00am.

Manager Laboratory Services Job Responsibilities:
  • The Manager of the Cell Processing Lab has responsibility for processes involving, but not limited to collection, processing, and storage of cellular products, processing allogeneic cellular products from external contracted sites, transport of cellular therapies to sites of administration, assisting with preparation of products for infusion into the recipient, and preparation of cellular products for transport to external laboratories.
  • Other responsibilities include training and supervision of laboratory staff in the Cell Therapy Lab as well as coordination with the Inova Blood Bank on compatibility of cellular products, ensuring ABO typing processes are appropriate across the healthcare system.
  • The Manager of the Cell Processing Lab plays an essential role in the Quality Program and FACT accreditation process in collaboration with the Medical Director of the Stem Cell Transplant Program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in science, Medical Technology, Histo/Cyto Technology, Chemistry, Biology or Physical Science
  • Experience: 4 years of experience of lab supervisory experience.
  • Certification: American Medical Technologist or American Society for Clinical Pathology Board certification consistent with scope of responsibility to include Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Lab Technician (MLT), Histotechnician (HT), Histotechnologist (HTL), Technologist in Blood Banking (BB).
