A Day in the Life

As a Full-Time Laboratory Assistant based in our Orange, CA Laboratory, you'll step into the lab where every detail matters. You'll play a key role in prepping and handling samples, keeping records accurate, and maintaining a clean laboratory to support on-time results everyday. You'll collaborate with a strong team of committed professionals, contribute to meaningful scientific work, and grow your expertise in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.

The compensation range for this role is $17.00 - $20.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

Department: Semi-Volatiles (SVOA)

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Perform dishwashingand cleaning,change gascylindersandperform housekeeping tasksthat can includeroutine repetitive motions such as scrubbing, rinsing, drying, and stacking glassware
  • Sample retrieval,storageand archiving, andresponsible for propersample disposal.
  • Prepare samples and/or reagents according to SOPsandperform support tasks as needed
  • Conduct lab analyses asrequiredand adheretoaccuratedata/record keeping practices;stay current with all SOP readings and any training as assigned
  • Perform calibration verification ofsmalllaboratory equipment such as thermometers and balances
  • Maintain a safe, organized work areaand ensureaccuratelogbook records andaccuratedata entry into LIMS
  • Conduct inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals and restock laboratory cabinets and storage areas with as needed
  • Comply with Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with company's Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic laboratory techniques (knowledge of PPE, use of balance, pipetting, glassware handling, etc)
  • Basic Excel skills required
  • Must be comfortable working with strong acids and solvents
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Detailoriented

Preferred Skills

  • Prior Laboratory experience preferred bot not required
  • Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good organizational skills and strong communication skills
