What is a labeler?

Labelers are professionals or automated systems responsible for tagging, categorizing, or annotating data, such as images, text, or audio, to prepare it for use in machine learning and artificial intelligence projects. Their work helps train AI models by providing accurate and consistent labels that the algorithms can learn from. Labelers may work with a variety of data types and use specialized software tools to ensure quality and efficiency. This role is critical in industries like technology, healthcare, and retail, where large volumes of labeled data are essential for developing intelligent systems.

What does a labeler do?

A labeler is primarily responsible for attaching labels to products or packages going out for shipment. This position often involves working with industrial and consumer products. As a labeler, your duties include operating and tending to machines, preparing products for delivery and storage, handling and moving materials to produce a smooth workflow, and inspecting equipment to ensure safe operation. You also communicate with co-workers and supervisors to obtain and provide any necessary information to complete your tasks. Desired job skills include mechanical knowledge, math, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team. There are no educational qualifications needed beyond a high school diploma to become a labeler, but if you want to gain more experience and advance your career, programs are available for learning how to operate heavy machinery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a labeler, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Labeler, you need attention to detail, manual dexterity, and basic literacy or numeracy skills, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with labeling machines, barcode scanners, and inventory management systems is typically required. Reliability, focus, and the ability to work efficiently in repetitive tasks are valuable soft skills in this position. These skills ensure accurate product labeling, compliance with standards, and smooth workflow in manufacturing or distribution settings.

What are the most common challenges faced by labelers, and how can they be effectively managed?

Labelers often encounter challenges such as maintaining accuracy and consistency when tagging large volumes of data, meeting tight deadlines, and adapting to evolving project guidelines. To manage these issues, it's important to develop a keen attention to detail, regularly review instructions, and communicate proactively with team leads or project managers. Many teams also use collaborative tools and peer reviews to help minimize errors and ensure a high standard of quality in the labeled data.

Job description

Mark Andy P-Series Press Operator

Why Print.Save.Repeat.?

Glad You Asked.

We're running a high-speed label converting line producing 4x6 shipping labels in large volumes — and we need an experienced Mark Andy P-Series flexographic press operator who's excited by that opportunity.

  • Competitive pay and real benefits: health, dental, vision, retirement plan, life insurance, and PTO because you've earned it
  • Room to grow: we're an Inc. 500 fastest-growing company and we bring our people along for the ride
  • Work that actually means something: the labels we make show up in hospitals, warehouses, and doorsteps across the country every single day
  • Good people, great culture: casual dress, collaborative teams, and a workplace you won't dread walking into
  • Join our team to create high quality labels and take pride in hands on work that makes a real impact

We are looking for an excellent candidate for a Mark Andy P-Series Press Operator position, running a production-focused, high-speed converting line dedicated to 4x6 shipping labels on our label manufacturing team. The press is equipped with a Martin MBE Buttsplicer and ABG Turret rewind — experience with this equipment is a strong plus. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the press and related converting equipment to produce high-quality products at volume. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment — there's no shortage of work here.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Set up and operate the Mark Andy flexo press, presses including the Martin MBE Buttsplicer and ABG Turret rewinder, according to work orders and specifications
  • Run a constant high-speed converting line producing 4x6 shipping labels, keeping pace and quality consistent across long runs
  • Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are met
  • Package and assemble finished products
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to perform quality control checks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience operating a Mark Andy P-Series (or comparable Mark Andy flexo press) strongly preferred; experience with a Buttsplicer and ABG Turret rewinder is a plus.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate measurements using calipers and other tools
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Comfort with sustained high-speed production runs and tight changeovers
  • Military veterans are encouraged to apply

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Thursday, 2:30pm – 12:30am
  • Four-day work week with three-day weekends, every week. New team members will go through a brief onboarding period with a varied schedule before settling in.
  • 2nd shift comes with a shift differential. Working evenings pays more. Simple as that. (Pay range listed in posting includes differential)

Think you're a good fit? We'd love to meet you. Apply today and let's figure out if this is the start of something good.

Note: Like any job, this one will evolve over time and we may occasionally ask you to pitch in beyond what's listed here. That's just how good teams work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • 401(k)

Company Description

Print.Save.Repeat. isn't your typical printer supplies company. We manufacture products that keep companies moving: custom labels and high-quality laser printer toner cartridges that businesses across the country depend on every single day. Think about the label on your prescription bottle, the sticky receipt with the specific details of your lunch order, and the shipping label on that package that showed up at your door last night. There's a good chance we had something to do with that. No inflated pricing. No unnecessary middlemen. Just smart printing for large and small business - lower costs, and less nonsense. That's the whole idea. And honestly? We're pretty good at it.

Good enough, in fact, to land on Inc. 500's list of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies. Out of millions of sellers on Amazon, we've earned our spot in the Top 1% of independent third-party brandsIs on the platform, a milestone our team hit in 2024 and hasn't looked back from. And if you want to know what customers actually think? Our reviews speak for themselves, Print.Save.Repeat. is a Top-Rated brand on Amazon, built entirely on what real customers have to say. We don't chase accolades, but we won't pretend these don't mean something, they're proof that what we're building here is working.

Over 100,000 large and small businesses nationwide, from eCommerce and logistics to healthcare and manufacturing trust us to keep their operations running. Downtime isn't in their vocabulary, which means it can't be in ours either. When a warehouse needs labels or a company's printers go down, we're the ones who show up. Every time.

Here's what that means for you.

We're a lean and agile American manufacturer with operations in Mesa, Arizona and Dawsonville, Georgia. Two locations where real work gets done by people who show up with their sleeves already rolled up. There's no corporate maze to navigate. No six-month approval chain for a decision that should take an afternoon. If you have a good idea, say it out loud, someone will actually listen.

People come here and find out pretty quickly that their work matters. Not in the "we value our employees" poster-on-the-wall kind of way, although we do have them, and know who we are. In the "you'll see the results of what you did this week by Friday" kind of way. You will be supported, encouraged and provided with industry leading compensation and benefits as well.

We take the work seriously. We just refuse to make it miserable when we can have fun instead.

If you're looking for a place where you can actually make your mark, not just fill a seat until something better comes along, let’s get to know one another better.
