The Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician is responsible for fabricating prostheses and/or components for people with limb absence. The technician fabricates prosthetic sockets and components to provide maximum function, cosmetics, and workmanship and repairs the prosthetic devices as needed. They are expected to keep abreast of process updates and must be skilled in the use of appropriate equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

The technical responsibilities of this role may include some or all of the following functions:

  • Create, modify, and duplicate plaster models.
  • Fabricate diagnostic and definitive rolled silicone sockets custom to each project.
  • Perform assembly of the final prosthesis.
  • Prepare and assemble prosthetic finger products following existing work instructions.
  • Perform repair of prosthetic socket interfaces, according to Company quality and quantity standards.
  • Capture and process 3D scans of patient models, prosthetic components, and related objects.
  • Convert scan data into editable 3D models and ensure quality and proper alignment.
  • Exhibit basic knowledge of computer modeling techniques (CAD).
  • Prepare 3D printers (FDM, MJF, and LPBF) for builds, and post-process jobs according to existing SOPs.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure accuracy and product excellence.
  • Safely pack and ship orders using appropriate materials.
  • Assist with R&D initiatives as needed.

General responsibilities include:

  • Employ existing processes to accurately move a project through the fabrication workflow.
  • Communicate with team members on project design and troubleshooting ensure seamless design-to-manufacturing integration.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Operate various equipment, machinery, and tools to construct prosthetic sockets and components.
  • Document work and maintain detailed logs.
  • Monitor job priorities, ensure they are all completed accurately.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Work under close supervision.
  • Perform other duties or special projects, as assigned.

  • Less than 1 year of related experience

Job Complexity:

Pay range of $20.67 -$24.04 /hour + bonus+ benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with State Law.  Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables
