Lab Services (GXP) Media Prep Technician - JLLWhat this job involves:

The Lab Services Media Prep Technician plays a critical role in supporting laboratory research operations within a highly regulated GXP environment. This position is responsible for the complete lifecycle of chemical and biological media preparation-from precise calculations and documentation through autoclaving, labeling, and timely delivery of sensitive formulations essential to client research activities. Working collaboratively within JLL's Lab Services team, you'll ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This hands-on technical role directly enables groundbreaking scientific research by providing reliable, accurate laboratory support services that keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Prepare, sterilize, label, and deliver chemical and biological media formulations following established procedures, performing accurate calculations and maintaining complete documentation throughout the process

  • Sterilize laboratory materials including glassware, media containers, bioreactors, clothing, and other equipment required for sterile operations using autoclaves and approved protocols

  • Fulfill buffer and media orders, manage waste removal requests, maintain supply inventory levels, and coordinate reordering to prevent operational disruptions

  • Neutralize, disassemble, clean, and reassemble bioreactors according to standard operating procedures, ensuring equipment readiness for research operations

  • Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding supply stock levels, material needs, software upgrades, calibration schedules, deviations, and operational planning

  • Maintain strict compliance with all GXP documentation requirements, regulatory standards, and Lean 6S principles while performing services in applicable laboratory areas

  • Assist with other lab services operations as directed, adapting to changing work schedules and priorities determined by operations management

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in life science, biology, chemistry, or equivalent work experience in a laboratory environment

  • Proficiency in computer programs and laboratory management systems essential for documentation and operational efficiency

  • Demonstrated mathematical proficiency for accurate formulation calculations and media preparation

  • Valid New Jersey driver's license and willingness to complete appropriate vehicle operation training where applicable

  • Ability to lift, bend, and move safely to perform job tasks, and operate required laboratory equipment in accordance with safety protocols

  • Experience working safely in a team-based, high-performance, quality-driven environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior knowledge and hands-on experience in a regulated GXP environment such as pharmaceutical, medical device, or life science industry

  • Familiarity with Lean 6S methodologies and continuous improvement practices in laboratory settings

  • Experience with bioreactor operations, cleaning, and maintenance procedures

  • Understanding of laboratory safety protocols involving chemical and biological agents, including proper use of personal protective equipment

  • Demonstrated ability to follow both written standard operating procedures and verbal instructions with strict attention to detail

Location:Onsite

Working Conditions:This position requires working with chemical and biological agents that may be hazardous to health if mishandled, including agents that may potentially affect reproductive health and/or fetal development. Employees must follow all safety procedures and use personal protective clothing and equipment as provided by the company where specified.

Estimated compensation for this position:

85,592.00 - 85,592.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
