Sample Prep Technician

Job Description

Prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. The position will follow approved microbiological techniques and methodologies used in analytical testing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for Microbiological and Chemistry Analysis.
  • Apply aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain media and reagents.
  • Clean and sanitize work area and glassware.
  • Perform QC monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, and running media controls.
  • Perform plating.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques.
  • Knowledge of biology and microbiology.
  • Experience in lab support and sample preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow specific directions and standard operating procedures.
  • Aseptic technique.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in the Sciences preferred but not required.
  • 12 months of laboratory experience (in-school experience is acceptable).

Work Environment

This role is situated within a microbiology testing laboratory. The work schedule is from Tuesday to Saturday, from 1 pm to 9:30 pm. The environment requires adherence to aseptic techniques and cleanliness standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of De Pere, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
