Job description

As a Pre-Prep Technician, you will report to dispatch to receive vehicle packets. You will pick up a vehicle packet or packets from service dispatch. The fuel level is checked. If not full, the fuel is topped off. The vehicle is pre-soaked and then runs through the on-site car wash. Vehicles are then pulled into the detail bay. All interior and exterior plastic is removed and disposed of. The vehicle is vacuumed and floor mates are laid out. Interior windows may require cleaning.

Salaryย Overview:
The pay rate for this role starts at $16 per hour.

Hours:

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm.

Pre-Prep Technician Responsibilities Include:

  • Staging completed vehicles in the designated staging area for PDI and LPO Technicians.
  • Alert the Service Supervisor if defects or damage are found on any of the vehicles while being cleaned.
  • Assist the Service Department with vehicle movement on- or off-site as needed.
  • Assist with license plate removal or installation.
  • Clean vehicles, check fuel and top off fuel if needed.
  • Adhere to Suburban Automotive Serviceโ€™s DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.

Pre-Prep Technician Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must have exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be a reliable team player.

Pre-Prep Technician Working Conditions and Physical Demands Include:

  • 50% of the time this job will be completed while walking, standing, and standing.
  • 50% of the time this job will be completed while lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • This position is performed both inside a garage and outside so weather conditions may include extreme heat and cold.
