Job description

Abra Auto Body & Glass is seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented Paint Prep Technician for our fast-paced, state-of-the-art facility.

The Paint Prep Technician ensures that all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed, and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled prior to returning the vehicle to the body technician.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Paint Prepper is tasked with quality preparation for all assigned vehicles prior to the paint, reassembly, and final finish stages.

  • Reviews estimates and understands scope of repair
  • Inspects body repairs to ensure standards are met
  • Tapes surface areas and parts with precision to minimize tapelines and overspray
  • Applies masking paper as necessary
  • Parts removal and reassembly as required
  • Performs final surface cleaning and preparation for proper adhesion
  • May block and sand repair areas as needed
  • Prime, edge, jam replacement parts as requested
  • Learns to mix paint as needed

Must have basic knowledge of painting system and paint process. Must be 18 years of age , clean driving record and background check.
