Senior Manager - Lab Operations
Advanced Testing Laboratory (ATL), a Bureau Veritas Company, is seeking a Senior Manager to join our team of dedicated professionals focused on client service and quality. What You’ll Do:
  • Oversee a team of 7-10 managers.
  • Act as an interim manager to non-scientific and scientific associates as needed, covering current manager vacations as they arise.
  • Manage PTO requests, time approval, performance, coaching, development, guidance and oversee operational success.
  • Supervise work performance and provide feedback to the General Manager.
  • Maintain a constant communication link between managers, associates, and clients including human resource issues, project updates, accounting issues, etc.
  • Provide regular weekly 1:1 meetings with managers/associates and participate with the General Manager in client meetings.
  • Resolve any work-related issue as they arise.
  • Ensure that individuals adhere to policies and practices on quality, testing and safety.
  • Help drive budget, inclusive company culture, growth, and engagement goals set by General Managers.
  • Identify opportunities to build client base as well as enhance current employee skill sets.
Customer Service:
  • Provide feedback to General Manager concerning achieving benchmarks.
  • Proactive awareness identifying any opportunities or risks (e.g. business, associate, safety etc.)
  • Be a liaison to report on client activities, needs, and/or concerns.
  • Report to the General Manager on group’s progress providing metrics on performance when necessary.
  • Display sensitivity to needs of clients.
  • Show concern for facility appearance by maintaining a clean, safe, work environment.
  • Ensure that each team member exhibits exemplary customer service.
What You’ll Need:
  • BS in Biology, Chemistry or a science related field, master’s degree preferred with a strong molecular and biology bench background.
  • Familiar with most cell culture, molecular and biochemical assays. Ability to learn and adapt quickly to technologies.
  • 5+ years of strong leadership and coaching experience leading a large team of 10-20 members in a lab setting. Experience leading an entire department or multiple departments preferred.
  • Six sigma experience or experience with organizational planning for teams to meet business goals preferred but not required.
