Job description

Job Requirements
Position Summary
The LIS Technician, under the direction of the Lab Compliance & Quality Manager, provides LIS support to client users. The technician will support all lab departments with project development, test build and validation, troubleshooting, and other IT-related functions as assigned. This position will be full-time, onsite support. The LIS Technician also understands and complies with the Standards of Behavior as well as, department policies, procedures, and regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education
  • AS Medical Lab Technology or other related field

Experience
  • Three years of clinical laboratory experience in a large hospital setting
  • One year of computer experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of HL7 and experience interfacing laboratory instrumentation

License/Registration/Certifications
  • Certification by an acceptable laboratory registry as an MLT or MT

Preferred Requirements
Preferred Education
  • BS in Medical Lab Science or other related field

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Epic EMR.

Preferred License/Registration/Certifications
• Beaker certification
Core Job Responsibilities
• Assists in the development, testing, implementation, and operations of the Laboratory Information Systems.
• Assists in the building of LIS database and interface files.
• Assists with maintenance and troubleshooting of LIS.
• Provides on-site support of lab IT functions.
