SURTECO offers complete vertical integration for our customers: design development, cylinder engraving, decor printing, finish foils created with a state-of-the-art lacquer process and an extensive variety of edgebanding.

We are looking for a full-time Quality Control Lab Technician II for our manufacturing plant in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Quality Control Lab Technician II candidate will prepare, test, and compare finished and experimental samples. The Lab Technician will also provide and maintain accurate data and records for raw material evaluations, new product projects and product improvement projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze lab blends for color match requests.
  • Perform all required testing on incoming finished goods material and maintaining retain samples.
  • Document, analyze and interpret test results.
  • Serve as back-up for preparing pigments for upcoming batches.
  • Perform basic laboratory maintenance including, but not limited to, stocking lab supplies, maintaining test equipment and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager.
  • Follow basic lab safety guidelines and regulations.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a cross-functional team
  • Capable of working in a high-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and ERP System (SAP) software
  • Previous color matching experience a plus
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years Quality Control or Laboratory work experience preferred
  • Minimum Associate's degree in a Science related field preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds as needed.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Frequently positions self to use/maintain personal protective equipment.
  • Comfortable with working in a manufacturing environment alongside machines, equipment, etc.
