Summary
Play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our soybean oil products from production to final delivery. As a Soybean Laboratory Technician, you will perform detailed quality control testing on crude and refined oils, accurately document analytical results, and help uphold the highest standards of product excellence. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, enjoys hands-on laboratory work, and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality products our customers can trust.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collect, log, and file oil samples for quality control checks.
  • Perform quality control analysis in accordance with plant or customer specifications.
  • Perform laboratory housekeeping duties to include washing glassware, cleaning floors and cabinets and emptying trash containers.
  • Operate quality control instruments.
  • Learn to calibrate and perform simple maintenance on laboratory instruments.
  • Learn specialized quality control tests to include but not limited to solid fat index, spectrometry and chromatography.
  • Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state and federal agencies as well as company policies.
  • Perform job within established CGMP's.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years related experience or college graduate.
  • Reading, writing and math skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • College Degree in Science.
  • Knowledge of quality control / Food Safety.
  • Knowledge of chemistry.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
    • Able to move freely throughout the Quality Control Laboratory and Oil Refinery facility to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 150'), carrying equipment or samples (0-50 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
    • Must be able to wear protective equipment.
