Summary

  • The Environmental Monitoring (EM) Core Technician is responsible for conducting EM tasks in support of production and aseptic processing of clinical-grade products.
  • The role also involves maintaining, stocking, and setting up the clean room environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Environmental Monitoring (EM) process as part of GMP production of viral therapies.
  • Perform cell culture and product purification using aseptic techniques when required.
  • Coordinate EM equipment needs with the QC EM team for manufacturing processes.
  • Draft, complete, and revise manufacturing documents, including Batch Records and EM forms.
  • Prepare buffers and components, including operating the steam autoclave.
  • Operate manual, semi-automated, and automated equipment to support routine clinical production.
  • Use Environmental Monitoring equipment such as Solairs, ApexZ50, and active counters.

Required Skills

  • Basic laboratory experience with a Bachelor's degree or intermediate laboratory experience in a cGMP clinical production environment with a High School Diploma.
  • Proficiency in aseptic technique.
  • Experience in cell culture and serological methods.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Environmental Monitoring.
  • Lab experience within a GMP or clinical production setting.
  • Ability to pass Class 10,000 gowning qualification.
  • Strong organizational, record keeping, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer software.
  • Effective written and oral communication; ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Strong work ethic.
