Job description

The Embedded Test Lab Technician II, under limited supervision, performs a variety of tasks supporting the Manufacturing Test Software department. This individual shall be responsible for assembling electronic equipment test racks and test stations, providing troubleshooting and repair support in the test lab, inventory management and tracking of hardware assemblies and devices, and assisting in the day-to-day support operations of the Manufacturing Software area.
Core Responsibilities
  • Assemble and maintain new test racks and mini racks
  • Load software and configuration onto test racks and mini racks
  • Troubleshoot test rack and mini rack issues including physical connections, miswiring, software load issues and software configuration issues
  • Manage inventory of lab hardware, cables, equipment and other assets. Including, but not limited to, inventory management, allocation of assets to test racks and team members, triage of hardware problems, coordination of repairs, asset tagging, calibration coordination and support of equipment asset audits.
  • Place orders and track lab materials, tools, and equipment, following standard procedures
  • May assist Test Engineers during Software Verification Tests
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering lab technician, assembly/repair line tech or related professional experience
  • Knowledge of electronic and electromechanical components
  • Skilled in the use of lab instruments (multimeter, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand electromechanical assembly drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience with MS Office products required (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system is highly desired
  • Basic Linux experience (i.e. installation of Ubuntu, and knowledge of basic commands)
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence is a plus
  • Testing experience is desired
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in building cables and/or other electromechanical assemblies highly preferred

The starting pay range for this position is $30 - $35 per hour however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
