Job description

Alliance Technical Group is hiring a Lab Project Manager to join our team in Tustin, CA! The Lab Project Manager is responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of client projects from setup through closure. This entry-level role focuses on ensuring accurate project setup, monitoring sample receipt and progress, and maintaining communication with internal teams and clients. The Lab Project Manager ensures that client requirements are met while developing foundational project management skills.  

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with project setup in LIMS, ensuring accurate client data, pricing, and documentation. 
  • Monitor sample receipt and coordinate with sample receiving/log-in teams to ensure timely intake. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for routine client inquiries and direct more complex issues to senior staff. 
  • Track project status and communicate updates to internal teams and clients. 
  • Support project closure activities, including confirming deliverables, invoicing, and documentation. 
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in preparing project status reports. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with client expectations. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and communicating process inefficiencies. 
  • Promote a positive and professional client experience through courteous and responsive service. 

Pay Rate

$30-35/hour DOE

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Basic understanding of project management principles. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. 
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service, project coordination, or a laboratory environment. 
  • OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout laboratory and office environments. 
  • Manual dexterity to operate and computer systems. 
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. 
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and environmental samples, using appropriate PPE.
