Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is a state-of-the-art veterinary emergency and referral hospital, providing expert care and treatment around the clock. As a specialized Registered Veterinary Technician, you will perform the following key responsibilities:
Provide advanced care for 7 to 10 critically ill and injured patients on average per shift
Assist with emergency resuscitation, trauma stabilization and critical care management
Prepare patients for anesthesia and surgical procedures, monitoring vitals throughout
Assist or perform diagnostic testing, lab work and imaging
Maintain and prepare medical equipment, medications and supplies
Collaborate closely with a skilled team of specialists and technicians to ensure seamless patient care
Participate in ongoing professional development
Contribute to mentoring and training junior team members
Qualifications:
Registered Veterinary Technician credential
Open to new graduates; experience in emergency and specialty services is an asset
Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to client care
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary medical team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of patient care
