Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

MOCOM is looking for a technically sharp Lab Technician to join our Quality Laboratory team. This is a hands-on role central to everything we make โ€” you'll own in-process and finished-product testing, keep our lab running to ISO and IATF standards, and be a go-to resource for quality data that drives production decisions.

If you hold a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering โ€” or have built deep, practical lab expertise through hands-on experience โ€” we want to hear from you. Strong candidates get noticed fast here, and this role comes with real visibility into our manufacturing operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform Quality Control testing on in-process and finished products, generating data that directly informs production.
  • Conduct chemical analysis and routine testing; interpret results and flag anomalies promptly.
  • Operate and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment.
  • Support recipe and formula management for production batches.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of test results and procedures in compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Manage SDS files for raw materials and finished products.
  • Monitor and manage chemical inventory; assist with purchasing and stocking of lab supplies.
  • Support shift handovers with complete, accurate shift-change records.
  • Assist in developing training materials and coaching teammates.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment โ€” adhering to all EHS policies and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Provide coverage support across shifts when needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • Demonstrated experience in chemical analysis or a quality laboratory environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and act on technical data and test results.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication โ€” you document things right the first time.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial lab environment: moving equipment, temperature variation, occasional exposure to chemicals, and PPE requirements.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

Preferred โ€” Candidates With These Rise to the Top

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Associate's degree or technical school diploma in chemical process or chemical engineering technology.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems: IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or VDA 6.3.
  • Prior experience in an automotive, polymer, or specialty chemicals manufacturing environment.

WHY MOCOM

  • Be a critical part of a quality team that takes pride in precision and process.
  • Work in a structured, ISO-certified environment where your expertise is valued and visible.
  • A company that invests in safety, environmental responsibility, and employee development.

Ready to bring your lab skills to a team that values them? Apply today โ€” qualified candidates are reviewed promptly.
