Located in beautiful Newberry County, SC, Newberry Health is a 90-bed, acute care, independent, not-for-profit hospital recognized with the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval. We are proud of our strong leadership, dedicated staff, and commitment to providing high-quality care for our patients.
Job Summary:
The Lab Assistant performs phlebotomy procedures on both inpatients and outpatients in a timely manner. Collects blood samples from patients required for the performance of laboratory tests as requested by the physician with the least possible discomfort to the patient. The lab assistant is also responsible for supporting the lab staff with various functions.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program, or previous training and experience to perform phlebotomy
  • One-year prior experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
