Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Assists faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction.
  • Assists faculty with the supervision and mentoring of students during scheduled lab sessions or tutoring sessions, as needed.
  • Assists faculty with maintaining a clean and safe lab environment.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment, as instructed.
  • Assists with inventory maintenance and requisition of supplies.
  • Obtains materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials.
  • Completes ALL required employee trainings.
  • Meets with students, staff members, supervisors, as needed.
  • Assists with special projects or initiatives, as needed.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by program chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Satisfactory completion of the following courses: COFC 1080, WELD 1005, WELD 1015, WELD 1025, and WELD 1035.
  • Six (6) month to one (1) year of related work experience in a welding, maintenance, or manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of the Shielded Metal Arc Welding certificate, Gas Metal Arc Welding certificate, Gas Tungsten Welding certificate, or the Welding Technology diploma.
