TTI Outdoor Power Equipment, has an opening in its Anderson, SC office for aRegulatory Engineerthat is responsible and accountable for developing expertise in all standards that apply to new and complex product development programs and support of mature products. Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for handlingUL, CSA, TUV, ETL,and SGSproduct listings, file changes, file withdrawals, and variation notices, for files maintained byTTI.

  • Interface daily with all new product and mature product design engineers concerning issues and schedules related to regulatory listings.

  • Analyze and evaluatenew productconstructions and effectively communicate how well they do or do not comply with the appropriate standard(s). Must be able to adjust communications to support success.

  • Maintain an open and honest relationship with all regulatory agencies. Must be capable of discussing standards issues with regulatory agencies objectionably and always maintain the interest of the company while staying within the scope and intent of applicable standards.

  • Assist with training all lab personnel through a complete understanding of the standards as well as the testing requirements. Take a lead role in assuring that lab technicians have the necessary knowledge to insure their certification through the regulatory agency audits.

  • Responsible for working with the lab management to insure lab CTDP (Client Test Data Program) status. This includes making sure the lab, the lab equipment, and the lab personnel are adequately prepared for yearly audits.

  • Responsible for interfacing with regulatory agencies to understand what standards apply to what products. This is especially important for new and unusual products that are not currently covered under a specific standard.

  • Interface daily with members of Product Management, Engineering, Quality, TDI, and Product Safety.

  • Prepare draft descriptive reports, figures, illustrations, and datasheets for product listings.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering (ElectricalorMechanicalpreferred) or equivalent experience

  • Comfortable and capable of explaining technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences in email and meetings

  • Experience evaluating, testing, andreviewingelectronic circuits

  • Ability tomanagemultiple programs.

  • Ability to communicate across all functional areas and internationally.

  • Works with a sense of urgency, initiative and has the ability to work independently.

  • Experience in international travel would be a plus.

Prefer

  • Experience in the application of regulatory standards as they apply to any or all of our product designs.

  • Minimum of threeyears' experiencein similar field or work

  • Familiarity with common test and measurement equipment -- oscilloscopes, multimeter, power supplies, etc.

  • Knowledgeof Li-Ion Battery electronics and Li-Ion Charging systems.

  • Knowledge of IEC/UL60730Software Evaluations.

  • BMS design hardware and software knowledge

  • Schematic interpretation / design

  • Soldering Technique
