The Team
The Compliance team plays a critical role in protecting the Leaseweb brand, customers, and global network. Working at the intersection of Trust & Safety, risk management, and customer verification, the team helps ensure Leaseweb maintains a secure, compliant, and trusted environment for customers around the world.
In this role, you will help identify and mitigate risks associated with Leaseweb's services by reviewing and responding to abuse reports, supporting customer verification processes (Know Your Customer/KYC), and assisting with compliance-related investigations and activities. You will serve as an important safeguard for the business, helping to protect both our infrastructure and reputation.
This position is based at our headquarters in Manassas, Virginia and reports to the Finance Director. You will work closely with Leaseweb's Global Compliance team, collaborating with colleagues across multiple countries to support compliance, Trust & Safety, and risk management initiatives.
What You'll Do
  • Review and verify new customer orders and account information as part of Leaseweb's Know Your Customer (KYC) and risk management processes.
  • Investigate, manage, and resolve abuse reports related to online activity, including spam, phishing, malware, copyright violations, network attacks, and other forms of prohibited or illegal content.
  • Respond to and coordinate requests from law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and legal representatives, including subpoenas, preservation requests, and other legal inquiries. Work closely with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to ensure timely and compliant responses.
  • Review and process network enforcement actions, including IP blacklisting and null routing, to protect Leaseweb's infrastructure and customers.
  • Partner with customers to address abuse, compliance, and security concerns while promoting adherence to Leaseweb policies and industry best practices.
  • Maintain relationships with industry organizations, security groups, and other partners focused on combating online abuse, fraud, and cybersecurity threats.
  • Assist with legal and contractual reviews, ensuring compliance requirements are properly documented and addressed during customer onboarding and ongoing business relationships.
  • Support compliance certification efforts and audits by gathering documentation, coordinating evidence requests, and working with internal teams to meet regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compliance, Trust & Safety, and operational processes through automation, documentation, and workflow enhancements.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, including developing procedures, delivering training, presenting compliance-related topics, and contributing subject matter expertise across the organization.

Who You Are
You are a detail-oriented, communicative professional who understands the sensitivity and responsibility that comes with handling compliance, security, and legal-related information. You are comfortable working across multiple internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and regulatory or law enforcement authorities.
We are looking for someone who brings both strong judgment and a practical, hands-on approach to risk and compliance work.
What Weโ€™re Looking For:
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and accountability when handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk, identify patterns, and make sound decisions
  • Business acumen with the ability to evaluate customer legitimacy and determine whether activity appears authentic or potentially fraudulent
  • Understanding of online abuse and security threats, such as spam, phishing, hacking, malware, and related activity
  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, compliance operations, fraud prevention, or an abuse desk environment is preferred
  • Experience working with high-volume requests and demanding stakeholders, including the ability to prioritize and manage urgent matters effectively
  • Strong initiative and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Awareness of intellectual property concepts (e.g., copyright and content ownership) is a plus
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages such as Spanish, Mandarin, Malay are a plus.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be a Notary Public, or able to obtain Notary Public certification within the first 60 days of employment, paid for by company.
  • Industry certifications in cybersecurity, compliance, fraud, or related fields are a plus and strongly preferred
