Job description

Classification: Business Analyst Work Hours: 40+ hours/week: M - F About KUB: KUB is one of the largest public utilities in the country providing safe, reliable, and affordable electric, gas, water, wastewater, and fiber services to more than 520,000 customers in Knoxville and parts of seven surrounding counties. About the Role: Join our team as a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant where you'll focus on key general ledger responsibilities as well as potential investment and bond initiatives.

This role will assist with the preparation of journal entries and financial statements, and will require the analysis of complex financial data to produce insightful, actionable reports. Success in this position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, a deep understanding of corporate or governmental accounting, and a passion for precision and meaningful financial impact. The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment, delivers high-quality results, and consistently provides exceptional customer service.

Qualifications Physical Requirements: Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time in normal office conditions, but does involve walking or standing outside periodically for inspections, customer calls, etc. Work requires no unusual physical demands.

Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and/ or exceed those demands described above. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-yearcollege or university One (1) to three (3) years of experience in related field Strong communication, interpersonal, written, oral, and team skills Strong analytical skills Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel Valid driver's license Please note that due to job responsibilities, KUB does not provide immigration sponsorship for and/or based on this position.
