KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Manager, KPMG Law to join our practice
Responsibilities:
  • Embrace a client-facing role working with both US and Global teams to drive opportunities as well as efficiencies and continuously improve engagement delivery; develop and maintain relationships with external clients, vendors, KPMG tax and advisory professionals, KPMG foreign law firms and other stakeholders
  • Manage the delivery of large scale multidisciplinary and multijurisdictional projects along with supporting the development of adjacent service offerings to existing KPMG tax and advisory practices
  • Collaborate with diverse teams of professionals at various levels of experience in different subject matter areas and from different geographies, including teams from KPMG's international member firms
  • Leverage KPMG technologies and contribute legal knowledge and experience to the development of new technologies focused on drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and advising clients on commercial and corporate law documents at scale; monitor developments in the legal and regulatory environment to ensure contracts remain compliant
  • Support legal managed services engagements which may include high volume contract review and / or contract data extraction; contract lifecycle management (all or some processes); claims support and management; provide legal guidance to internal and external stakeholders in relation to technology and managed services contracts; and contribution of knowledge to legal drafting and negotiation playbooks
  • Seek opportunities to contribute to broader legal community; mentor junior lawyers and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing

Qualifications:
  • Minimum eight years of recent experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing general commercial law contractual agreements and corporate law documents; additional specialized experience in certain areas such as regulatory law, government contracting, employment law, financing / banking, and insurance is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed Juris Doctorate or LLM degree from an accredited college/university (active bar license in Arizona)
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and the ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage assignments in a team environment with proven ability to lead legal projects efficiently from initiation to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables align with client objectives
  • Strong substantive understanding of general commercial contracts and agreements and the key clauses typically found in these agreements, for example, limitation of liability, indemnification, warranties, termination, and more
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate governance and transactional matters, with familiarity in key provisions commonly found in corporate agreements such as shareholder rights, board resolutions, fiduciary duties, voting thresholds, change of control, and confidentiality
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and a willingness to adopt new technologies such as AI and their application to various legal services use cases
  • Ability to develop and deepen client relationships while working with both U.S. and non-U.S. KPMG teams to bring the right services to new and existing clients; demonstrated experience in sales and business development
  • Adept at integrating diverse viewpoints across teams and multiple stakeholders to drive collaborative, inclusive, and high-quality outcomes; demonstrate exceptional clarity and impact in communication-translating complex ideas into actionable insights that drive performance, foster collaboration, and reinforce KPMG's high-performance culture
