How much do knife manufacturing jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 15, 2026, the average hourly pay for knife manufacturing in the United States is $18.97, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.87 and $21.15 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Knife Manufacturing position, and why are they important?

To thrive in knife manufacturing, you need proficiency in metalworking, attention to detail, and a good understanding of safety standards, often gained through vocational training or relevant manufacturing experience. Familiarity with CNC machines, grinding tools, blade shaping equipment, and quality control systems is highly valued in this field. Strong teamwork, manual dexterity, and a commitment to precision help individuals excel in both individualized and assembly-line production environments. These skills are crucial to ensuring product quality, workplace safety, and efficient manufacturing processes.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

In knife manufacturing, high-paying roles such as skilled machinists, tool and die makers, or production supervisors can earn around $4,000 weekly, especially with experience and specialized skills. These positions often require technical training, certifications, or apprenticeships rather than a college degree, and may involve working in manufacturing plants with shift work or overtime opportunities.

What is a Knife Manufacturing job?

A knife manufacturing job involves producing knives by cutting, shaping, sharpening, and assembling various materials like steel, plastic, or wood. Workers may operate machinery, handcraft blades, or inspect finished products for quality control. Responsibilities can include forging, heat-treating, grinding, and polishing blades to achieve the desired durability and sharpness. Safety procedures and precision are essential, as the job requires handling sharp tools and heavy equipment.

Do knife makers make money?

Knife makers can earn varying incomes depending on their skill level, experience, and whether they work independently or for a company. Skilled artisans or custom knife makers often charge higher prices for their products, which can lead to higher earnings, while production line workers typically earn hourly wages. Income potential also depends on factors such as market demand, location, and the quality of craftsmanship.

What is the highest paying job in manufacturing?

In manufacturing, senior engineering roles such as manufacturing engineers, plant managers, and operations directors tend to be among the highest paid positions. These roles often require extensive experience, technical skills, and sometimes advanced certifications, and they oversee large-scale production processes and strategic planning.

What are some typical daily responsibilities of someone working in knife manufacturing?

In a knife manufacturing role, your daily tasks may include shaping and grinding blades, assembling knife components, performing quality inspections, and operating specialized fabrication equipment. You'll often work as part of a team to meet production targets, while adhering to strict safety guidelines and quality standards. Troubleshooting equipment, maintaining manufacturing tools, and keeping detailed production records may also be part of your routine. This hands-on work environment provides opportunities to learn new technical skills, collaborate closely with colleagues, and take pride in producing high-quality tools.

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

In the knife manufacturing industry, traditional manual jobs such as skilled blade grinders or hand-finishing roles may decline due to automation and advanced manufacturing technologies. Roles involving repetitive tasks are increasingly replaced by robotic systems, leading to a shift toward automation-focused positions requiring technical skills in machinery and programming.
