Who we're looking for

Toyota Mississippi's Quality Engineering team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Quality Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development and implementation of TMMMS (Toyota Mississippi) quality initiatives both in-house and with suppliers.

Reporting to the QC Engineering Manager the person in this role will support the quality objective to provide the highest quality vehicle to our customer.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and manage quality standards related to suppliers, in-house manufacturing shops & completed vehicle.

  • Assure change-point management for suppliers, in-house manufacturing shops & design.

  • Manufacturing shop technical support and daily problem-solving of part, shop, or field issues.

  • Communicate/coordinate/negotiate to solve complex problems with cross-functional teams.

  • Quality window person to design / design technical support

  • Technical procedure development and engineering reporting

  • Kick-off & lead cross-functional teams to help project manage closure of major field issues

  • Initiate part recovery & perform part installations to duplicate field issues

  • Summarize supplier, shop, or field issue learnings & yokoten across relevant cross-functional teams

  • Research & summarize part field performance data including VOC, Warranty Claims, Field Reports & Cost Data into concise & visual reports

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

  • Ability to work in team setting with strong communication skills.

  • Ability to develop/review technical documents (drawings, reports, manuals, technical specs) for engineering use

  • Ability to create presentations that can be understood by different audiences.

  • Experience developing, visualizing & tracking KPI metrics

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience working in Toyota manufacturing as engineer or engineering co-op/intern.

  • TBP (Toyota Business Practice) Panel Completion

  • Possess a basic understanding of problem-solving tools such as: TBP, 8D, Fishbone, 4M and 5-Why

  • Possess a basic understanding of risk analysis tools such as PFMEA

  • Possess a basic understanding of automotive systems & manufacturing quality

  • Experience in field issue management & Early Detection/Early Resolution (ED/ER)
