Starting Wage:ย  $17.96/hour
Description:ย  The Kitchen Helper assists the Cooks in serving school lunches and maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen area.
Job Summary:
1. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Serve school lunches according to established standard proportions in a nutritious and timely manner.
2. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Cleans counters, dishes, stoves, equipment, and other kitchen and lunchroom areas so that kitchen is clean and prepared for the next day.
3. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Washes trays, dishes, and cooking pans so that utensils, serving trays, and dishes are ready for the next day.
4. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Acts as cashier.
5.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  May assist with grocery delivery/stocking.
6. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  High school degree, GED, or equivalent experience.
2. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Demonstrated knowledge of proper method of serving food, care and use of kitchen appliances, and proper sanitation methods and procedures.
3. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to work with others.
4. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to maintain good public relations with student and staff.
5. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  General math/cashier skills in order to cashier or measure food.
6. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Regularly able to lift heavy objects in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
7. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  No allergies to kitchen and cleaning chemicals.
8. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  May be asked to work caterings and extra hours if necessary.
9. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Entry level position, no experience required.
