Position Summary:

The Regional Sales amp; Key Account Manager leads wholesaler partnerships and Key Accounts across a defined footprint of focus states, while coaching and developing the Rhinegeist sales team within that territory. This role partners with the Director of Field Sales and Director of Key Accounts to craft and execute territory sales plans, drive growth, and elevate Rhinegeist as the premier category partner for our retail partners.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Planning amp; Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Director of Field Sales and Director of Key Accounts to develop and own yearly sales plans for the region.
  • Co-create actionable plans with direct reports to address gaps and accelerate growth.
  • Align portfolio offerings and innovation to market-specific needs.

Team Development amp; Coaching

  • Manage and train the field team within the focus territory.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings monthly; set quarterly targets aligned to company goals.
  • Create, own, and monitor tactical budgets and travel/expense (T amp;E) budgets for the territory.

Account Management amp; Market Execution

  • Build and maintain wholesaler Key Account relationships; manage chain accounts.
  • Roll up monthly sales performance, gap analysis, market needs, and opportunities to the Director of Field Sales.
  • Monitor competitive pricing and present market insights; curate and deliver wholesaler-level presentations.
  • Act as a category partner to retailers, weaving Rhinegeist’s bundle of goods/services with business acumen to elevate the beer category.

Market Intelligence amp; Analytics

  • Maintain consistent market visitation schedules; manage quarterly target account lists.
  • Analyze sales opportunities using VIP, IRI, Nielsen, and other provided tools.
  • Develop market opportunities and communicate needs to the broader sales team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Enhance communication across the sales team, wholesalers, and their staff to promote Rhinegeist.
  • Partner with marketing and operations to ensure timely product launches in-market.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience managing a wholesaler and a proven track record in Key Accounts; beer industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience managing direct reports; prior team or wholesale leadership preferred.
  • Proficiency with VIP, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Palpable passion for craft beer and building strong partner relationships.
  • Ability to travel as needed; ability to work flexible hours to support market needs.
