As a Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing and directing individualized treatment plans that promote patient recovery, enhance physical function, and prevent further disability.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical abilities through diagnostic tests, assessments of muscle strength, joint mobility, and functional capabilities.
• Providing hands-on care techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and the application of physical agents like traction and massage.
• Overseeing and guiding Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure effective implementation of treatment plans and adherence to best practices.
• Engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration, working closely with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare team members to review and update patient care plans.
• Documenting patient progress through clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Providing education and training to patients and families regarding home therapy programs, use of assistive devices, and self-management strategies.
• Conducting home evaluations to enhance the patient’s independence and recommending necessary modifications to facilitate a safe living environment.
• Participating in regular case conferences and quality improvement meetings to discuss patient outcomes and strategies for improved care delivery.

Your caseload will primarily consist of patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. These may include orthopedic, neurological, and cardiorespiratory diagnoses. You will be expected to tailor your treatment approaches to each patient’s unique needs, capabilities, and goals, fostering an atmosphere of empathy and support throughout their rehabilitation journey.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• A passion for delivering high-quality care and a commitment to patient advocacy.

While a minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist is required, candidates with acute care or home care experience will be given special consideration. Familiarity with the latest rehabilitation technologies and methodologies will also be viewed favorably.
