Job description

Job Summary:

Assist in receiving, storing, pulling and loading of orders for distribution while maintaining an organized layout of inventory control with controlled record keeping.


Duties/Responsibilities:


Shipping

· Fulfill distribution orders based picking lists and/or other order type documents with accuracy.

· Drive truck to various locations to deliver materials. Obtain authorized signature for supplies requested.

· Load and unload delivery truck by hand or by use of hand truck.


Receiving

· Verify accuracy of incoming product by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on vendor invoice or packing slip and purchase orders; recording any discrepancies or damage.

· Open crates and other containers using hand tools to unpack items received. Inspect shipments for damage and defects.

· Recording information into the computer system to create accurate records.


Skills/Abilities:


  • Ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Experience with inventory control procedures.
  • Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
