About the Role

As a Core System Junior Developer, you will support the lifecycle of in-house scripts and applications related to our Core System, working closely with Senior Developers and the Core Systems Manager. You will ensure that our systems meet organizational needs, uphold our standards of confidentiality, availability, and integrity, and provide exceptional technical support to staff and members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Developers to simplify and automate banking processes through application development.
  • Participate in the full application development process, including design, coding, testing, refining, and deployment.
  • Ensure that all applications are secure, guarding against persistent and non-persistent threats.
  • Work with third-party SDKs, APIs, and internally developed applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in support of existing applications.
  • Document code thoroughly and maintain coding standards and processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for application use and administration.
  • Stay updated on industry trends by engaging in educational opportunities and professional development.
  • Protect sensitive information by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain the code repository.

Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma; a college degree is preferred.
  • Experience in programming functions.
  • Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Python, JSON, XML, and SQL.
  • Ability to plan, design, and maintain programming methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
