Junior service advisors typically do not require prior experience, as they often receive on-the-job training to learn customer service skills, vehicle systems, and dealership procedures. Having a high school diploma or equivalent is usually sufficient to start, and some knowledge of automotive basics can be helpful. Employers may also look for good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

What is a junior service advisor?

A junior service advisor is an entry-level professional who assists customers with vehicle service needs, communicates repair details, and coordinates between customers and technicians. They typically have basic knowledge of automotive services and may use dealership or shop management software to schedule appointments and track repairs.

Job description

Now Hiring: Junior Service Advisor

Service Department | Full-Time | Monday – Friday

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated, people-focused individual to join our service department team as a Junior Service Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and is eager to grow within the automotive industry.

In this role, you will work closely alongside our Lead Service Advisor providing direct support to the service department while receiving hands-on, real-world training from an experienced mentor. This position is designed to develop you into a confident and capable service professional.

You do not need to have automotive experience — we will teach you what you need to know. What we are looking for is the right person with the right attitude.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Junior Service Advisor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Greeting and assisting customers in a professional and welcoming manner

- Supporting the Lead Service Advisor with writing and managing repair orders

- Communicating with customers regarding the status of their vehicle

- Answering incoming phone calls, emails, and text messages promptly and professionally

- Assisting with vehicle check-ins and the documentation process

- Coordinating with the parts and technician teams to relay information accurately

- Helping to manage customer expectations and ensuring a smooth service experience

- Delivering vehicles and reviewing completed repair orders with customers

- Assisting with scheduling, follow-ups, and general administrative support within the service department

- Learning and utilizing the dealership's internal computer systems and software

- Supporting the overall flow and organization of the service drive

What We Are Looking For

Required:

- ✅ High school diploma or equivalent

- ✅ Strong customer service background or experience in a customer-facing role

- ✅ Excellent communication skills — verbal and written

- ✅ Comfortable working with computers, phones, email, and text-based communication platforms

- ✅ Ability to work independently and take initiative

- ✅ Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- ✅ Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods throughout the shift

- ✅ Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Preferred (Not Required):

- ⭐ Previous experience in an automotive, dealership, or service environment

- ⭐ Familiarity with dealership management software or scheduling systems

- ⭐ Experience in a multi-tasking, high-volume customer service setting such as retail, hospitality, or logistics

What to Expect in This Role

Working in a dealership service department is fast-paced, dynamic, and rewarding. No two days are exactly the same. You will be communicating with customers, coordinating between departments, and managing multiple priorities at once — all while delivering a positive experience to every person who walks through the door.

This role requires someone who:

- Thrives in a busy environment

- Can stay organized and focused when priorities shift quickly

- Takes pride in follow-through and attention to detail

- Is a natural communicator who genuinely enjoys helping people

- Is eager to learn and grow within the role

This is not a behind-the-scenes position — you are the face of our service department, and the experience our customers have is a direct reflection of the effort and professionalism you bring every day.

Schedule

Monday through Friday

Hours 6:45 AM – 5:00 PM

Type Full-Time

Weekends Not required

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and based on experience. Specific pay will be discussed during the interview process. We are committed to fairly compensating individuals who bring the right energy, work ethic, and dedication to our team.

Why Join Our Team?

- ???? Real growth opportunity — this role is designed to develop into a full-Service Advisor position

- ???? One-on-one mentorship and hands-on training from an experienced Lead Advisor

- ????️ Consistent Monday–Friday schedule — no weekends required
