Job Summary
The Senior Operations Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Engineering, Procurement, and Production Operations by applying broad functional expertise and a strong understanding of U.S. Government asset management protocols. This job is located in South Bend, IN and is 100% onsite.
This role is responsible for maintaining government-approved business systems to ensure compliance with federal regulations (specifically FAR 45 and 52.245-1), customer requirements, and internal aerospace policies. Operating with minimal supervision, the Senior Operations Coordinator supports daily activities related to Government Property Management across the 10 Functional Outcomes.
The Senior Operations Coordinator plays a key role in supporting IT, Reports, Procurement, and Production Operations by applying broad functional expertise and a strong understanding of U.S. Government asset management protocols.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop, prepare, and manage solicitation documents (RFP/RFQ) to support competitive procurement while ensuring alignment with contract requirements, Statements of Work (SOWs), and company policies.
  • Negotiate pricing, specifications, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers to achieve best-value outcomes and maintain compliance with FAR 52.245-1, internal procedures, and procurement standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive price analysis, market research, and fair-and-reasonable determinations to ensure procurement decisions are well-supported and compliant.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement and contract documentation, including procurement files, supplier correspondence, corrective action records, and performance reports in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and expedite order delivery to meet internal and external customer requirements, collaborating closely with Program Managers, custodians, Material Management, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead and support contract-related activities such as contract closeout, asset/material transfers, customer issue resolution, and coordination with Disposition Leads for Plant Clearance.
  • Utilize SAP for WBS setup, reporting, and data validation, ensuring accurate performance tracking and integration with procurement and asset management activities.
  • Drive compliance, risk mitigation, and audit readiness by developing corrective action plans, supporting audit preparation, and ensuring accuracy within procurement, contract, and asset management processes.
  • Interpret and execute contract requirements, SOWs, and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with procurement actions, supplier deliverables, and program goals.
  • Cultivate strong supplier relationships that promote collaboration, issue resolution, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, RCCA, Gemba walks, and Kaizen events to streamline procurement, contract management, and asset processes.
  • Support internal accountability boards and escalation frameworks, helping resolve supplier issues, delivery delays, compliance gaps, and cross-functional challenges.
  • Mentor junior staff and program office personnel by providing guidance on procurement processes, contract requirements, audits, inventories, and special projects.
  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. Government property regulations, including a strong working knowledge of FAR 52.245-1 and the 10 Government Property Management Outcomes.

Basic Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree + 3 years of experience, or high school diploma + 6 years.
  • Prior experience with government property management.
  • Experience with PIEE.
  • Ability to maintain compliant procurement/contract documentation.
  • Familiarity with FAR 52.245-1 and government property regulations.
  • Experience collaborating with program, material, or asset management teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in SAP and property systems (eQUIP, AssetSmart, etc.).
  • Experience with price analysis, market research, and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience supporting audits, corrective actions, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Kaizen, RCCA).
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff.
