Job description

Tuknik Government Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Network Operations Analyst to support TGS and our government customer in Durham, NC or Baltimore, MD.

Job Summary:

Provide hardware and software engineering, technical support services, training for operation of various existing applications and implementation and operation of new technologies that reside in the client’s Regional System Support Center  (RSSC) infrastructure. The candidate shall provide on-site support and management for hardware devices located at the RSSC; as well as provide 2nd and 3rd level software and hardware problem determination support for this infrastructure.

Shift: Sunday thru Thursday from Midnight until 830am.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned)

  • Perform day-to-day operations necessary for effective hardware operation.  This includes daily database initialization, monitoring health of the client/server equipment and data flow through Outlook/Exchange, database, storage and the PDC servers
  • Perform daily checks on overnight hardware functionality and troubleshoot as necessary 
  • Provide troubleshooting to efficiently isolate workstation or server connectivity issues and hardware problems in a multiple domain environment
  • Provide problem analysis for all types of hardware, as they perform within the ROCC infrastructure, and coordinate the activities necessary for problem resolution
  • Perform all activities necessary to resolve hardware problems.  Limited travel may be required
  • Install and/or reinstall Agency approved software on multiple platform disciplines resident in the ROCC
  • Perform software application troubleshooting on all Agency-standard software
  • Performance of the day-to-day operations necessary for effective software operation, coordinating prompt and appropriate problem resolution
  • Provide troubleshooting to efficiently isolate workstation or server connectivity issues and software application problems in a multiple domain environment
  • Perform all activities necessary to resolve software problems.  Limited travel may be required
  • Provide support and problem resolution for Microsoft Windows server and workstation, multiple domain structures
  • Provide necessary expertise to use common Microsoft Administration utilities such as Server Manager, User Manager and Performance Monitor
  • Provide suggestions for proactive problem resolution and to contribute suggestions for continuous improvement of daily operations in the remote office using network management utilities such as SMS
  • Logically resolve problems in the client server area by using the TCP/IP suite of protocols (PING, TRACERT, TELNET, etc.)

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Services or comparable discipline required or demonstrated success with equivalent work experience
  • Equivalent combination of knowledge and specialized experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • Government contract may require person to possess proof of U.S. citizenship
  • Active CCNA and Network+ Certification

Knowledge:

  • Candidates must possess extensive knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, MS Exchange Email, Active Directory, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP protocols and applications, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, and Cisco IOS (CLI) and familiarity with Data Protection Manager 2012, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), virtual environments (i.e. VMware, Hyper-V), Unix systems operation and Oracle data base operation, EMC and Hitachi storage array concepts.
  • In addition, experience in a large routed/switched/Ethernet network using primarily Cisco equipment is required.  General Windows administration
