Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Linux Application Administrator to provide technical support for RHEL-based enterprise application environments on a federal government IT program. You will administer Linux-hosted applications and services, collaborate with team members, ensure STIG compliance, and serve as a technical escalation point for Linux environment issues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical operations for enterprise Linux application administration in a federal IT environment
  • Collaborate with and support junior Linux administrators
  • Execute deployment, patching, monitoring, and incident response for RHEL-hosted applications
  • Administer Apache, Tomcat, LDAP, Oracle Unified Directory, and Red Hat SSO
  • Maintain STIG configurations and drive cybersecurity compliance across Linux systems
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and technology refresh planning for Linux environments
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for Linux environment issues

Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: minimum T3 required
  • Bachelor's degree OR RHCE certification
  • Minimum 5 years of Linux/RHEL application administration
  • Hands-on expertise with Apache, Tomcat, LDAP, and enterprise directory services
  • Experience with security hardening, STIG compliance, and patch management on Linux

Preferred Qualifications
  • RHCSA or RHCE certification
  • Experience with Splunk or similar log management/SIEM platforms
  • Cloud infrastructure experience (OCI, AWS, or Azure)
  • Background in federal IT with DoD security compliance requirements

Certifications
  • RHCE preferred or required in lieu of degree
  • Security+ or DoD 8570 baseline a plus
  • Active or obtainable DoD Secret clearance; T5 may be required
