Job description

Description:

The Junior Designer is an integral member of the studio team, assisting studio Designers and Project Managers. The Junior Designer assists in preparing client-facing material as well as researching, coordinating, designing, and developing other items within the studio. This position is an essential stepping stone for growth within the studio and provides expores to and active participation in all aspects of project development and delivery, from initial conceptualization through completion.

The Junior Designer may be assigned to multiple small scale projects simultaneously, or several larger projects at a time, depending on the studio’s engagements.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate and attend Client Meetings
  • Source FF&E Material and create detailed FF&E Specifications
  • Obtain quotes and related information from Vendors and Contractors
  • Prepare Presentation Boards and Material Binders
  • Prepare Plans, Elevations, and detailed Furniture Drawings
  • Create Drawings and Renderings (2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional) for project presentations
  • Product Door, Hardware, Plumbing, Lighting, and Finish Schedules, including the research required to select all related elements
  • Maintain Project Binders, Digital Files, Photos, and Project Samples
  • Keep clear and accessible records of design decisions and purchases
  • Assist with project installations


STUDIO RELATED JOB DUTIES

  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, materials, and technologies.
  • Foster a positive and constructive team working environment and provide design input and guidance to all team members.
  • Bring creative inspirations, sources, examples, and resources to the studio at large and provide design input and guidance to all team members.
  • Contribute actively to the creative process for all new projects regardless of eventual team assignments for later stages.
  • Participate in the project documentation process, including note taking and record keeping of given projects’ development


Requirements:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field
  • 0-3 years of professional work experience
  • Strong organization and excellent communication skills
  • Refined presentation skills and proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), Microsoft Office, and Google Applications
  • Knowledge of Spexx preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated personal and professional drive to succeed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Exceptional organization skills, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Must be based in Las Vegas, NV, and available to work during standard daytime hours.
