Role Summary:

The Junior Designer is expected to help the design team deliver world class co-working environments that are leading the way in the future of work. This is a technical design and creative styling role that requires a passion for design. The key objective is to assist the team in delivering exemplary projects of the highest possible design quality on time and on budget from inception to installation.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of 'co-working' and an even deeper understanding of how our members interact and behave in our spaces.
  • Assist Sr. Designers in space planning and test fit concepts as needed.
  • Assist in the production of detailed drawing and concept design packages.
  • Assist in the development of furniture and styling concepts and work with the procurement and styling team on finishing touches.
  • Assist with the Integration of our graphic brand into the concepts and presentations.
  • Attend project / site meetings where required.
  • Play a hands-on role in installation, including sourcing styling items and dressing the spaces.
  • Work closely with the build and procurement team to ensure the designs are ordered and delivered on time and on budget.
  • Maintain Kiln materials library.
  • Be active on the Kiln member network and contribute to social media content.
  • Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the Chief Creative Director or VP of Design.


Ideal Experience & Skills:

  • College graduate with a four-year degree preferred.
  • Strong interior design portfolio.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD packages. Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate your ideas through Visualization, rendering, and hand sketching.
  • Google and Adobe Suite, Slack, Asana, and ready and able to learn to manage additional SaaS platforms.
  • Understanding of ADA and office code requirements.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrates integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy.
  • Passion and understanding for Kiln's mission and values.
  • Willingness to travel, as required.
  • Willingness to work in-person at our Lehi, UT location.
