What does a junior information architect do?

A Junior Information Architect helps design the structure and organization of digital information, such as websites or apps, to make content easy to find and use. They assist in creating navigation systems, sitemaps, and wireframes by working closely with designers, developers, and content creators. Their main goal is to improve the user experience by ensuring information is logically organized and accessible. As juniors, they typically work under the guidance of more senior information architects while learning industry best practices.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a junior information architect, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Junior Information Architect, you need a solid understanding of information organization, user experience (UX) principles, and typically a degree in library science, information systems, or a related field. • Strong learning agility and intellectual curiosity - able to quickly come up to speed on new technologies, customer missions, and business processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to organize technical information clearly.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple concurrent priorities.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
