Join our Building Sciences team as an Early Professional and take your first steps toward a rewarding technical career that shapes how buildings perform, endure, and serve communities. This role is ideal for someone with a background in Architectural Technology or Engineering Technology who is eager to apply their education in realworld projects while learning from experienced professionals across Canada.

You'll contribute to meaningful building assessments and technical deliverables while growing your expertise in a collaborative, mentorshipdriven environment.


Your Impact

  • Support building condition assessments, investigations, and technical reviews for a variety of building types.
  • Collaborate with building science professionals and multi-disciplinary teams to commission and design new buildings.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and documentation aligned with project requirements and codes.
  • Contribute to field reviews and site visits to observe existing building systems and conditions.
  • Apply building science principles related to envelopes, materials, and performance.
  • Learn and follow WSP's quality, health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Grow your technical skills and professional confidence through handson project experience and mentorship.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience or strong coop / internship exposure in building sciences, construction, or consulting.
  • Foundational understanding of building systems, materials, and construction practices.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Proficiency with common technical tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or BlueBeam) is an asset.
  • Comfortable with a mix of fieldwork and office work, including getting to project sites as required.  For fieldwork, the candidate should be able to perform key physical tasks of the job as described in the posting and interview (including working at heights).  This may include the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, such as remote or isolated areas, working alone, and in inclement weather (within safe and reasonable limits).
  • Willingness to occasionally travel outside of the City and Province. 
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn and grow within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Hold a Class 5 Driver's License.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 - $76,200
MB & ON: $52,500 - $72,300
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $52,000 - $69,000
