Job description

FindTalent is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to provide engineering and technical expertise for site development and permitting projects in the power delivery sector. This role involves supporting utility substation, transmission line, battery storage, and renewable energy projects. The position includes both direct project work and project management support, requiring leadership in discipline-specific engineering tasks, responsible engineering, and oversight of project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. The ideal candidate will have strong permitting knowledge, and proven project management capabilities, with the ability to solve complex design challenges while collaborating effectively with clients, colleagues, and construction teams. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead civil-site engineering design and provide technical solutions for utility projects.
  • Develop, review, and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and review civil-site drawing packages including grading, drainage, access roads, and erosion control.
  • Conduct calculations for stormwater management, earthwork, and site drainage systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and secure necessary permits.
  • Perform site visits to monitor construction activities and provide solutions for design issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal engineering teams.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and client use.
  • Support proposal preparation, feasibility studies, due diligence, and project estimation.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year.
  • 7+ years of direct civil engineering experience in site development and permitting.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software; knowledge of HydroCAD, ESRI ArcMap, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater management, grading, erosion control, and civil-site design best practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team while managing multiple projects.
  • Experience in field visits and construction oversight is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail.
