Role: Automation/Electrical & Instrumentation/ E&I Engineer

Location: Hugoton, KS, 67951 - Onsite(Relocation and joining bonus will be provided)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Automation / E&I Engineer to design, implement, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems, as well as automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial instrumentation in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial equipment and processes.
  • Develop and troubleshoot automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical and control system failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize process control and automation strategies.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for E&I assets.
  • Support commissioning and startup of new equipment and automation projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and control logic.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial E&I and automation engineering.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial sensors, actuators, VFDs, and control loops.
  • Familiarity with NEC, ISA, and other relevant standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

    Experience in hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety.

    Project management and budgeting experience.

    Ability to train and mentor technicians and junior engineers.
