The Role: Technician - Network

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and perform maintenance of all client PCs, POS terminals, to include software patching and antivirus updates.
  • Assist Systems Administrators with the maintenance and configuration of network related hardware/software, including Active Directory, Group Policy management.
  • Work with Systems Administrators on special projects and researching new technologies.
  • Assist with the development of junior level technicians.
  • Provide Tier 1 and 2 levels of Help Desk support, to include covering Help Desk phone, e-mail support requests and Help Desk tickets.
  • Maintain and ensure all enterprise backups and data storage.
  • Maintain and provide reporting on hardware and software inventory, to include all PCs, laptops, printers, consumables, etc., in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Performs in-office duties including, but not limited to, invoice tracking, filing, and processing, purchase quoting, tracking, and processing.
  • Participate in budget planning and software tracking.
  • Must be actively at work to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Delaware Lottery gaming license (Delaware State)
  • Five or more years Microsoft Windows based PC support experience - MCP, Network+ and Security+ preferred.
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of PC desktop computer hardware, Windows Desktop OS (all current versions) and printer troubleshooting skills required.
  • Two or more years experience with Windows based networks, LDAP and Active Directory Services
  • Strong Windows networking skills including TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting DNS desired.
  • Experience with remote desktop access in a Windows environment
  • Extensive knowledge of all MS Operating Systems, MS Office (all current versions), Internet connectivity, printer connectivity, and help desk disciplines.
  • Previous experience supporting a large user community (500 users +), and a minimum 5 years of IT related support is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server Local Admin security, Active Directory, Group Policy, Office Suites.
  • Experience with remote monitoring, administration tools, and VPN experience on Windows Servers
  • Two or more years experience in Ethernet network cabling
  • Previous experience with Agilysys Point of Sales system is a plus.
  • Previous experience with AS/400 systems is a plus.
  • Experience maintaining vendor relationships including the purchase of hardware and software products is required.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced work environment where working with deadlines is the norm
