Job description

As a Cabling Technician Co-op, you will work closely with our technicians gaining valuable experience through hands-on installation of cabling infrastructure, premise security and audio/video disciplines. 

Effective co-ops will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive.

Job Functions
•    Installing pathways and low-voltage cabling in new or existing buildings.
•    Termination of new cabling.
•    Testing and troubleshooting of cable.
•    Mounting network racks and cabinets.
•    Mounting and positioning network and surveillance equipment.

Professional Skills
•    Superior work ethic and uncompromising attention to detail.
•    Must be eager to learn, self-motivated, flexible, accountable and can effectively handle multiple tasks at one time.
•    Communicates effectively and appropriately when dealing with teammates and other personnel.
•    Demonstrates the initiative and creativity for self-development within and outside of the company.
•    Involvement in organizations and projects beyond the classroom.
•    Work within the defined time frames/deadlines.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
•    Strong computer skills and be able to demonstrate good writing skills.
•    Ability to work on a ladder for extended periods of time.
•    Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs. or more.
•    Ability to operate hand and power tools appropriately.

Education
•    Current High School Student
•    3.0 GPA or above
•    2-weeks working/40-hour work week; 2-weeks attending school

You MUST be able to pass a government CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK, DRUG SCREEN, have RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION and possess a VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE or STATE IDENTIFICATION.
