Job description

Microsoft Business Applications Developer
Contract Length: ย 12 Months (possible extension)
Location: Tallahassee, FL (5 days a week onsite)
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Business Applications Developer to support a state government client's enterprise application team in Tallahassee, FL. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a developer who thrives on solving complex integration challenges within a Microsoft business-applications ecosystem, while also mentoring junior team members and helping shape technical standards.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 7+ years of professional IT experience with advanced-to-expert level skills in application systems design and integration
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform
  • Demonstrated experience integrating SaaS/enterprise applications via APIs and file-based transformation processes
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred (nice to have, not required):
  • Experience with iPaaS/integration platforms
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Experience integrating with government or accounting/ERP systems
  • Familiarity with Odoo or similar ERP platforms

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
  • Architect and troubleshoot application integrations, including API design and file-based data transfer/transformation processes between enterprise systems
  • Serve as a technical liaison between business stakeholders and development teams, translating requirements into scoped, estimated technical work
  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior/mid-level developers, and help establish engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, documentation standards)
  • Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, and data sync failures
  • Produce clear technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data models, and runbooks
