Job Title: Junior Applications Developer
Job Function: Applications and Software Development
Job Overview:

The Junior Applications Developer is responsible for developing and supporting information systems used by the company. Reports to IT Manager at Unigen, HQ, Newark, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Support and configure information systems.

  • Troubleshoot users’ system issues (Help Desk)
  • Identify and document common issues with software and suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with system configurations changes for evolving business processes.
  • Manage user accounts.

2. Develop solutions for business requirements.

  • Review user and business requests for process changes or function improvements.
  • Gather and organize requirements and other deliverables needed by the IT team.
  • Participate in request reviews and proposals for solutions.
  • Develop software solutions or changes to meet requirements.
  • Gather data and assist in implementation of third-party information systems.

3. Continuous improvement of IT department functions

  • Assist in documenting IT infrastructure.
  • Review and improve IT policy and work instruction documentation.
  • Develop IT department tools and workflows to improve organization and efficiency.
  • Generate reports and review data to find risks or opportunities for improvement.

Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Education and Work Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience in IT or Software field.
3. Familiarity with Manufacturing industry environment is advantageous.
4. Technical skills in JavaScript, Node.js, React, SQL, HTML, CSS, Windows.
5. Experience with version control systems and processes.
6. Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus.
