TITLE:
BI App Developer III (Multiple Openings)


LOCATION:

JOB SUMMARY:
Deliver reporting products and timely analyses through collections, credit compliance, payments, and bad debt to support the Credit Services arm of Charter Communications. Understand and execute proper development practices through a standard Business Intelligence Software Developer Life Cycle. Use SQL and data warehousing knowledge to design and build reporting products in MicroStrategy14 for Credit Services teams. Build products that help executive teams make key decisions based on the analytics provided and handle reporting and analytics regarding credit services. Monitor trends to help the business formulate strategies to better serve customers and recover at-risk moneys. Support all federal reporting programs and allows business to quantify the effectiveness of these support programs for government compliance. Use reporting products to track key operating metrics as outlined by the business which enables those teams to make informed decisions. Utilize business intelligence design and development, data management, database operations as well as a deep understanding of functional business needs. Contribute to solution architecture by approving data architecture as ready to be consumed by MicroStrategy. Transform business requirements into sustainable Business Intelligence solutions through the construction of MicroStrategy architecture, reports and dashboards. Educate end users on the functionality of products developed and document those products for future reference. Coach and mentor junior developers on the team. Recommend best practices and innovative reporting solutions through delivery. Utilize MicroStrategy architecture and explain how the tool interacts with the data warehouse model. Transform data into visually appealing dashboards that are easily consumed. Extend reporting architecture as new areas of functionality are introduced to the warehouse in a sustainable and supportable way. Performance tune dossiers, documents and cubes for quick access to information through efficient SQL generation or caching strategy. Write SQL scripts against the Redshift warehouse to support analysis, discovery and testing of reports. Understand the fundamentals of a dimensional data warehouse model and how to optimize the way data is organized for consumption in MicroStrategy. Support and document reports in a way that maximizes end user efficiency. Iterate and prototype on key business initiatives to arrive at a finished product that aligns with end user expectations.

 
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or a related field. 5 years of experience: programming in SQL for designing and building business intelligence products; storing data, moving data, and querying data for data warehousing; and utilizing Microstrategy for data visualization in Business Intelligence reporting OR Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or a related field. 7 years of experience: programming in SQL for designing and building business intelligence products; storing data, moving data, and querying data for data warehousing; and utilizing Microstrategy for data visualization in Business Intelligence reporting.
