Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Senior Accountant to join our Client Advisory Services (CAS) team. In this role, you will provide high-quality accounting, financial reporting, and advisory support to a diverse portfolio of clients. Working closely with Controllers and client leadership, you will prepare financial statements, perform complex accounting functions, analyze financial results, and help clients improve their financial operations. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, highly organized, and enjoys building strong client relationships while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes while meeting established deadlines.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP, income tax and/or modified cash basis.
  • Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and other financial planning activities.
  • Assist Controllers with maintaining effective internal controls and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation while coordinating requests from external auditors.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients by responding promptly to accounting questions and providing exceptional client service.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of each client's business operations, accounting policies, and applicable accounting standards.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients, documenting accounting processes, and implementing best practices.
  • Utilize cloud-based accounting platforms, including QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, NetSuite, and other financial management systems.
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
  • CPA license or CPA candidate preferred.
  • 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, Client Advisory Services (CAS), or corporate accounting.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and management reporting.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting audits and preparing audit workpapers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality client service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Public accounting experience within a CAS or outsourced accounting practice.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience training or mentoring junior accounting staff.
