The Accounting Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. The Accounting Manager carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: budgeting, rate development, financial reporting, and auditing.
Essential Responsibilities and Desired Outcomes
  1. Lead the accounting close by preparing monthly financial statements and ensuring journal entries are created. The goal is to generate accurate accounting records, completing them in a timely manner.
  2. Lead the development of the annual Operating and Capital Budgets to meet the organization's financial goals.
  3. Educate management and provide direction on as needed basis to include, but not limited to, explanation of budget variances and proper accounting treatment.
  4. Supervise the Payroll function.
  5. Direct, supervise and evaluate select Accounting & Payroll Staff and teams to meet organizational and staff needs.
  6. Develop rates for payment relating to various services of the organization including, but not limited to, Client Care and Supervision, and Room & Board.
  7. In collaboration with the finance team, continue to assess software needs, organization alignment and efficiency findings, as well as understanding the services the finance offers to better ensure their adequate delivery to our team.
  8. Maintain the General Ledger and related Reports including, but not limited to, the Chart of Accounts and F9 reports.
  9. Prepare ad-hoc financial reports at the request of Executive Leadership.
  10. Interpret the results of complex financial analyses, develop conclusions, and make recommendations.
  11. Manage the Annual Financial Audit to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Education/Qualifications
  1. Graduate of an accredited College of Business with a bachelor's degree in accounting, CMA/CPA certification preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting and specific experience with developing Operating and Capital Budget, preparing and analyzing various financial statements/reports.
  3. Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and related supervisory experience.
  4. Posses advanced computer skills to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Word & Excel, Internet, and Outlook e-mail.
  5. Knowledge of General Ledger applications, experience with NetSuite preferred.
  6. Must possess a valid WI driver's license, and ability to meet agency driving standards. Must provide proof of auto insurance.
  7. Must pass a periodic WI Caregiver Background Checks including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks, and/or that of previous states of residence.
