What you will do

You will provide leadership for our distribution center supporting a multi-product distribution system by partnering with peers in Manufacturing, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Environmental Health/Safety and Quality to create solutions and processes that achieve zero harm initiatives, yield perfect shipments, on-time deliveries, and optimal efficiency. You will promote a performance-based culture focused on providing Johnson Control's customers with exemplary experience, absorb Johnson Control's Leadership Essentials and demonstrate them in the day-to-day execution of their tasks.

How you will do it

  • Ensure that all distribution work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in adherence to company policies, local, state, federal and international laws.

  • Lead operations in a manner to promote safety and achieve zero deviation to all applicable regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, FAA, and IMO).

  • Build a positive high-performance work environment through equitable treatment and employee engagement.

  • Responsible for servicing domestic and international customers.

  • Assist in the development and support of the distribution strategies to achieve high service levels and optimal inventory placement.

  • Directly impacts business profitability and customer experience. Operational responsibility for end results, planning, and finances/budget; sets policies and business strategy for the NDC operation.

  • Develop and manage Inbound, Outbound, Return and Value-Added Service processes to ensure the highest levels of on-time service, quality and efficiency.

  • Must be able to work seamlessly across multiple functions within the organization to understand requirements and lead change management to deliver enterprise-wide programs.

  • Provide a comprehensive understanding of customer needs; identify and interpret changes in internal/external customer requirements.

  • Assist in developing meaningful metrics regarding warehouse activity and performance.

  • Review and monitor the achievement of financial/operational goals and standards.

  • Lead the identification, development and implementation of Continuous Process improvement, Kaizen events and Six Sigma initiatives involving Safety, Quality, and Productivity along with other cross functional opportunities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required:

  • 5 years of related experience in a warehouse environment

  • Workplace safety/Zero harm is a priority focus

  • Knowledge of transportation systems operational nuances (Small parcel, less than Truckload, Truckload, Intermodal, Rail, Air, Water)

  • Proven leadership, organization, and communication skills

  • Must be able to manage stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements as well as the ability to multi-task and to shift priorities easily

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Start-up and Operational Stabilization experience

  • Oracle JD Edwards Distribution module experience

Hiring Hourly Range
$22.00 - $26.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
