Thermo-Trol Systems Inc. (TTS) is a provider of industrial automation and control solutions. We specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining systems that optimize processes, increase efficiency, and ensure reliable operations for a range of commercial clients and government facilities. ย A motivated and skilled DDC Controls Field Engineer is sought to join the team.


Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control (DDC) technology. This role requires a strong understanding of building automation software (including WebCTRL), software management, configuration trends, and a technical aptitude, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced field environment.


Responsibilities:

Initiate, install, troubleshoot, test, and optimize customer systems that utilize advanced DDC technology.

Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues in automated systems.

Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.

Interpret schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems.

Read technical drawings, manuals, and diagrams for installation.

Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other technicians to ensure seamless system integration.

Document all service activities, troubleshooting procedures, and system configurations accurately and on time.

Provide clear and effective communication with clients regarding service status and resolutions.

Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout.

Support in-house development of projects.

Travel to project sites as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical or Business School Certificate or Diploma in Controls, HVAC, or related field preferred.

2-5 years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field.

Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.

Able to read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints, wiring schematics, and diagrams.

Able to integrate various building automation systems.

Expert with TCP/IP networks that include wireless equipment.

Proficiency in DDC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., ALC, JCI, Trane).

Familiarity with VFDs.

Able to manage multiple simultaneous challenges.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Able to communicate technical information to a non-technical end-user.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.

Able to work independently and manage time effectively.

Willingness to travel to client sites as required.


Required:

Able to pass a background check.

Able to pass a drug screen for federal contractor requirements.

Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Able to clear security checks needed to conduct work on federal bases and other government property.

Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, to include but not limited to lifting to at least 50 lbs., bending, squatting, climbing ladders, using various lift-equipment over 8 feet above grade, standing for extended periods of time, and working in various environments that may include noisier conditions at times.
