Job description

Primary Functions of the Job:
Provide first class service while selling food & beverage products. Promote the company and encourage repeat business.
Secondary Functions of the Job:
Projects assigned by the Restaurant Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
1). Know and practice all safety and security policies & procedures.
A). IMMEDIATELY inform management regarding any unsafe conditions current or potential.
B). IMMEDIATELY inform manager of equipment failure.
C). IMMEDIATELY inform manager if police are called or are needed.
2). Adhere to designated schedule and work station assignment based on manager's discretion.
3). Report to work clean, well groomed and in proper uniform 15 minutes before the scheduled shift.
4). Responsible for all checks and making sure that the bartender receives proper payment for each check.
5). Handle all transactions with speed and accuracy.
6). Strictly enforce all legal procedures relating to the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
7). Keep work areas Clean, Neat and Organized (CNO) at all times during shift. Practice "clean as you go" policy
8). Know shift information: station #'s and Table #'s, food & beverage specials of the day and upcoming events.
9). Adhere to all state and local health regulations.
10). Complete all daily side work and cleaning responsibilities along with other duties assigned by the manager.
11). Inform manager of needed supplies: i.e. POS printing paper, cocktail napkins, china, glass and silverware, et cetera.
12). EVERY GUEST, EVERY TIME: Food and Service Consistency (Ensure consistency of all food products and service. All items should taste and look the same every time.)
13). Immediately approach and acknowledge guests upon arrival and thank them when they leave. Make sure to always invite the guests back and please return soon. "It was our pleasure to serve you this evening."
14). Up sell all beverages and specials.
  • Describe all specials to every table
  • Drink special, Appetizer special, Entrรฉe specials and Dessert specials
  • Sell bottled water when approaching the table

15) Servers must know ingredients of all menu items and drinks and be comfortable describing and selling all items in front of customers.
15). MUST ask for help when not able to attend to Guests in a timely fashion.
16). Maintain upbeat disposition and positive attitude, even when busy.
17). Help co-workers when they are in need of help.
18). Use proper telephone etiquette when using the phone.
19). SMILE: your attitude will reflect to the Guests.
20). Restock before and at the end of each shift.
21). Communicate all specific problems or issues with the manager and all other staff members that need to be informed.
22). Maintain control over all situations, remaining calm and reasonable. Inform manager IMMEDIATELY if any dangerous or potentially dangerous situations arise.
23). Must complete the online TIPS Alcohol Awareness class within one month of being hired. Practice TIPS at all times.
Daily Breakdown of Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform opening, throughout shift and closing side work based on the attached sheet
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout your assigned section and the restaurant
  • Do not walk out of the kitchen empty handed and do not walk into the kitchen empty handed
  • Must be in control of their station and use server assistants only for assistance.
  • Must be on the floor at their idol position at all times during business hours. They must be attentive to their tables at all times.

Compensation: $ 25,000 - $ 35,000 a year
